Void Security Background – The background screen which exposes a hidden “VOID” pattern when scanned or copied. “VOID” is commonly repeated for the purpose of complicating counterfeiting attempts.

 

 

 

Thermochromic Ink - Pink ink located in bottom right corner of the document which disappears when exposed to heat. For authentication of document rub briskly with finger or breath upon.

 

 

 

 

Microprint Borders – The top and side borders on the face of the document contains hidden words that under magnification read “securerx”.  When scanned or copied the words appear plugged or unreadable.

 

 

 

 

Erasure Proof Ink - The front of this document is printed with erasure proof ink designed to prevent erasure or modification of information written by the prescriber, the ink will appear smeared or lighter in color in the area of attempted erasure.

 

Coin Reactive Ink - The image printed from this ink is white or transparent. The image is revealed when the edge of a coin is rubbed over the ink. This provides for immediate verification of document authenticity without the use of any special devices. Coin reactive ink cannot be scanned or copied.

 

 

 

 

Artificial Watermark - The top portion of the back of the document is printed with opaque ink creating an artificial watermark, hold document at a 45 degree angle to expose. This watermark can only be viewed on one side of the document. Artificial watermarks cannot be duplicated on a copier or scanner.

 

 

 

Fluorescent Fibers - The fibers are invisible under normal viewing conditions but they can  be checked for authenticity by viewing the document under an ultraviolet (black) light to reveal bright yellow threads.

 

 

 

 

Blue Dye -  Dyes contained within the paper and remains invisible unless ink eradicator is utilized in an attempt to remove or alter the information on the document.

 

 

 

 

True Fourdrinier Watermark - A translucent image created in the paper at the time of manufacturing. The image can be viewed from both sides of the paper. Hold document to a light source and look through the paper to verify presence.

 

 

 

Tonergrip Coating - A unique surface treatment applied to the document which yields greater toner adhesion to prevent “lifting” (usually by cellophane tape) of information applied via laser printers. Any alteration attempts become clearly detectable.

 

 

 

 

Border Copy Warning - The bottom border on the face of this document advises handlers and potential fraud artist of both overt and covert security features, absence of any of these features indicates a fraudulent document.
